An accredited aged care home is an Australian Government-funded aged care home that has been formally recognised as operating according to the Accreditation Standards as set out in the Aged Care Act 1997 and the Quality of Care Principles 1997. Accreditation is given by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency. Homes are accredited for a set period of time up to a maximum of three years, although accreditation status can be changed at any time if there is a risk to the health, safety or wellbeing of a resident.

Costs

The fee arrangements for aged care homes are changing on 1 July 2014. A summary of the types of fees that you may be charged are at Aged care changes from 1 July 2014. If your income and assets are over a certain amount you may be asked to make an accommodation payment that you agree with the home. Otherwise the Australian Government will pay for part or all of your accommodation costs.

The Department of Human Services will advise you if you are required to make an accommodation payment. This tab provides the maximum price (accommodation payment) you may be asked to pay if entering a home on or after 1 July 2014, you may be able to negotiate a lower price with the home. This tab also provides details on any additional care or services that may be offered by the home, either as part of the accommodation price or available at an additional cost.

Room description The facility is 3 years old and is designed specifically with quality and luxury in mind. The rooms have external access to beautifully maintained and manicured gardens with views to the lake which is surrounded by lush wooded habitat abundant with flora and fauna. The room has quality fixtures and fittings with plenty of natural and sensor lighting. Each room in the facility has individually controlled air-conditioning and heating, a bar fridge and a 40 inch wall mounted TV with the option of Foxtel on request.

There is a walk in robe with plenty of room for hanging clothes and storage. There is a phone in each room which has extra large numbers for the vision impaired. There is no cost incurred for the installation or rental of the phone. The only cost incurred by the resident is for outgoing calls. Internet access is available for usage. Families can elect to bring in their own furniture or use the furniture provided by the facility. The room includes a very modern comfortable chair, a bedside locker with a locked drawer for personal items. Other furniture is available if required. The extra large ensuite is ultra modern and beautifully tiled to give that feeling of luxury.

The extra large rooms are 35 square metres. All other rooms have the same luxury and amenities and are extra large measuring 25 square metres. Prices for these rooms are available on request.

Explanation of payment options

You have 28 days after entering a home to decide how you want to pay your accommodation payment. You can choose: A refundable accommodation deposit - a lump sum payment, the balance of which is refunded when you leave. A refundable accommodation deposit - a lump sum payment, the balance of which is refunded when you leave. A daily accommodation payment - a rental style payment that is paid on a regular basis, payable up to a month in advance, and is not refundable.

Rhapsody - Luxury Rooms.

The maximum price that you can be charged for these rooms is a refundable deposit of $550.000 or daily payment of $94.63 or a combination of both.

Residents can pay for their accommodation by refundable deposit, a daily payment or a combination of both. For these rooms a resident could pay 50% of the refundable deposit of $275.000 and 50% of the daily payment of $47.31
Additional amenities at extra cost We have a number of optional additional care or services that would be available to a person in this room at an additional cost.

  • Hairdressing and beauty treatments
  • The daily delivery of newspapers
  • Choice of wine or beer with meals.
Extra service fee

If you are moving into an aged care home, you may be asked to pay additional fees if you choose higher standards of accommodation or additional services. These vary from home to home. Your aged care provider can provide you with details of these services and the fees that apply.

Specific features The rooms have been specifically designed to maximise independent living whilst ensuring safety and security. Each room has sensor lighting. Residents do not have to fumble in the dark to find light switches.

The rooms have access to the use of sensor mats for residents who are at risk of falls.

The rooms are designed with quality fittings and furnishings.
Additional care Included in the accommodation price of the rooms is:

Common area description Residents living in our facility have access to an extensive range of different communal spaces totally approximately 9000 square in size. This does not include the outdoor and garden areas. The large dining room and lounge room is beautifully designed and decorated using quality furniture and furnishings. The lounge and dining room is large and spacious and can accommodate up to 90 residents comfortably. The communal areas include 5 lounge areas strategically positioned throughout the facility to take advantage of the many activities provided at the facility and can be used for special functions and parties.

We have a large theatre which seats up to 60 residents, a library and a computer room for resident use. The theatre boasts a large screen and sound system. The theatre room also acts as church/chapel area where residents/relatives can attend religious services of choice.

There is a dance floor in the main lounge area with a grand piano in the corner. Residents have access to a variety of entertainers and concerts.

Unique to our facility is the fact that every room has external access to beautifully manicured gardens or courtyards with shade sails, park benches and outdoor furniture that allow the residents to take full advantage of sitting outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. There is a coffee lounge decorated in bright and colourful colours designed to brighten every mood. Residents and relatives can sit and enjoy a coffee whilst overlooking the lake and garden areas. Luxury, quality and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere is evident when you first walk into the facility and is continued throughout the facility.
