An accredited aged care home is an Australian Government-funded aged care home that has been formally recognised as operating according to the Accreditation Standards as set out in the Aged Care Act 1997 and the Quality of Care Principles 1997. Costs

The fee arrangements for aged care homes are changing on 1 July 2014. A summary of the types of fees that you may be charged are at Aged care changes from 1 July 2014.

If your income and assets are over a certain amount you may be asked to make an accommodation payment that you agree with the home. Otherwise the Australian Government will pay for part or all of your accommodation costs.

The Department of Human Services will advise you if you are required to make an accommodation payment.

This tab provides the maximum price (accommodation payment) you may be asked to pay if entering a home on or after 1 July 2014, you may be able to negotiate a lower price with the home.

This tab also provides details on any additional care or services that may be offered by the home, either as part of the accommodation price or available at an additional cost.

Room description The Memory support unit rooms are 25 square metres and include a beautifully designed private en-suite. All the rooms in the Memory support unit are single rooms with private en-suites designed for 1 person.This area is specifically designed to provide a conducive environment for residents with Dementia and memory loss. The rooms are beautifully decorated in the finest fabrics and colours. Each room is fully carpeted and have large windows and doors to outside areas. The surrounding gardens and views of the lake abundant with an array of birds, turtles and swans provides an extremely relaxing and calming environment that has already assisted in reducing anxieties and challenging behaviours. Our staff are trained on how to manage challenging behaviours and offer a great deal of activities specifically designed to enhance interaction with other residents. The very large lounge areas and gardens are ideal for visitors and family members who take advantage of the lovely nature walks around the lake.

Common areas description The memory support unit has its own dining room and lounge room, both of which are very spacious, light and colourful. The dining area has an area of 92 square metres and the lounge room is a spacious 60 square metres. Each room has its own 40 inch wall mounted TV large walk in robes. Fridge and individually controlled air conditioning and heating.

The en-suite is beautifully tiled in luxurious and modern colours. Safety is a major feature in the Memory Support Unit with computerized and state of the art monitoring systems that can be managed by Registered Nurses on a 24 hour basis.

Room description The Kingfisher Boutique rooms 25 square metres and are specifically designed with luxury, quality and space in mind. The quality furnishings and carpets have been decorated by our interior designer. Each room has a 40 inch wall mounted TV, individually controlled air conditioning and heating. Extra large walk in robes. The single rooms with en-suites are luxurious, spacious and beautifully decorated. The en-suites are tiled from floor to ceiling and fitted with a quality vanity unit and mirror. Palm Lake Care Bethania was opened in April 2014 - all rooms have large sliding doors to a variety of views with many overlooking the lake and fountain or the beautifully manicured gardens and courtyards.

Common areas description The Kingfisher Boutique rooms are situated close to all common areas. Has it's own private lounge which overlooks the lake which is abundant with birdlife and in particular the swans, pelicans, ducks and turtles. Residents can enjoy a nature walk around the lake. Close to the Kingfisher rooms is the 60 seater cinema, library, computer room and the fully equipped Gym. In addition, residents can access 2 dining rooms and the main lounge area. The lounge room which overlooks the lake and fountain features a grand piano, dance floor and coffee lounge.

Room description All rooms in the Classic areas have been specifically designed with quality and luxury in mind. The rooms feature a 40 inch wall mounted TV, fridge, extra large walk-in robes, individually controlled air- conditioning and heating and have large sliding rooms that have direct access to private courtyards and garden areas. The carpets and furnishings are luxurious and comfortable and have been decorated by our interior decorator. The very spacious bathroom has floor to ceiling modern tiling and is fitted with a quality vanity unit and mirror. Each room has a variety of different views from private gardens and courtyards to the select few that have private verandas and overlook the garden hedged car-park.

Common areas description All residents in the Classic Rooms have direct access to the main dining and lounge room which overlooks the lake and fountain. Residents can enjoy a nature walk around the lake which is abundant with wildlife and birdlife and in particular the swans, pelicans and turtles. Each room is close to the 60 seater movie theatre, Library and computer room as well as the well equipped Gymnasium that takes in views of the lake. The movie theatre and library measures 154.9m2 and the Gymnasium/ Allied Health room measures 127 square metres. The main lounge area measures 370 square metres. The main lounge area features a grand piano, large dance floor and coffee shop. The extra large glass windows allows residents to view the lake while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Room description Palm Lake Bethania is a brand new facility which recently opened in April 2014. The rooms are a stunning combination of quality and luxury. The rooms are stylish, modern and have sliding doors where residents have direct access to beautifully manicured gardens and/or private courtyards. These deluxe rooms are large - 25 square metres. The fixtures and fittings in the room are of the highest quality and the room is furnished with beautiful carpets, curtains using quality fabrics and very tasteful colours. Every room has a 40 inch wall-mounted TV, Individually controlled air conditioning and heating, a bar fridge and extra large walk in robes with plenty of space for hanging and storage of clothing. High quality modern furniture is provided or you can choose to bring in some of your own quality furniture to individualise and personalise your room. A telephone is provided in each room and we cover the cost of installation and rental. The only cost incurred by the resident is the payment for outgoing calls. The rooms have plenty of natural light with sensor lighting so that residents do not have to fumble in the dark when going to their ensuite. The extra large ensuite has beautiful floor to ceiling tiling and an ultra modern vanity unit with plenty of mirrors.

Common areas description The rooms in Jabiru and Currawong are 25 square metres including an extra large en-suite.Residents living in our facility have access to a number of different communal spaces.We have a large gymnasium with equipment designed to improve and enhance independence, mobility and muscle strength. Our large theatre complex seats up to 60 residents and has been designed with comfort and quality in mind. The main dining room and lounge room is specifically designed to take advantage of the lake and garden views. Residents can enjoy a nature walk around the lake which is abundant with wildlife. There is an island in the lake which is the breeding ground for swans, ducks and turtles. Residents can watch and enjoy the abundance of wildlife from our coffee lounge that overlooks the lake. The lounge area boasts a dance floor for lots of different entertainment as well as having a grand piano that not only can be played individually but is also connected to an iPod that plays your favourite tunes.All rooms have access to external gardens and courtyards that have plenty of outdoor furniture and park benches for those who want to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.There is an outdoor bowling green and chess board game.The total size of the facility is 11000 square metres (excluding the beautiful surrounding gardens and courtyards).There are several covered outdoor areas where residents can enjoy sitting outside regardless of the weather Surrounding the facility are several benches for residents to sit and enjoy the views or have a rest between walking distances.
Specific accommodation or design features The facility has been designed to maximise independent living whilst ensuring safety and security. Every room has sensor lighting and motion sensors if needed. The Kingfisher rooms have private gardens and courtyards that overlook the lake and fountain. The lake is abundant with wildlife including, ducks, swans, turtles and waterbirds. Residents can enjoy a glass of wine or beer in the private lounge that overlooks the lake, fountain and gardens. Words cannot describe the ambience, luxury and quality of these rooms and the access to the multitude of design features that our facility has to offer.

Common areas description The central dining room has an area of 357.1 square metres.The Gymnasium/Allied Health Room has an area of 127 square metres.The movie theatre and library has an area of 357 square metres.Close by to the Lorikeet area is the 60 seater movie theatre with state of the art movie screen and sound system. Also within walking distance is the Wellness room with a fully equipped gymnasium. The rooms overlook the lake which is abundant with bird and wildlife including turtles, swans and pelicans. Residents can enjoy a nature walk around the lake . The lounge room that overlooks the lake and fountain features a grand piano, dance floor and coffee lounge. There is also a computer room, library and church service area. The common rooms and amenities are of the highest quality and specifically designed with space and luxury in mind.
